What do we want to do here? We have one chance. Every place we come to, every signpost we see or ignore and every path we take forms a tangible choice. Our lives are a series of choices, many of them not conscious, although they could be if we were more aware. We pass each place only once in the whole of eternity. We can never return to that same choice or chance.

We have all been given the gift of life on this shared earth. We must think for ourselves, listen to others, and remember that the whole of our lives we will keep learning. We will never have all the answers and we will always have more questions.

We are on our way to death. And apart from God, we will be all alone when we leave the world. What can we take with us when we leave?

When we think about how much of the world goes against our instincts, our sense of right and wrong, our conscience, it is inevitable that we will encounter friction, conflict, argument. But everyone is entitled to their own opinions and difference is what makes the world beautiful.

Speak all the positive things that you think or feel because there are never enough and they counteract the darkness that is inherent in the world. Love is the most important and valuable thing and the greatest gift we can give or receive; we should cherish it but also be generous with our love.

Perfection is not to be honoured at all costs. It is not only an impossibility, but to search and strive for it becomes an infectious disease of the mind that leads to constant niggling discontent and unbalance. We should savour the reliable unpredictability of life, for change is inevitable and constant. Love the chaos.
